DC Walk 4 ReCovery’s Message

I am a survivor of the crack-cocaine epidemic era of Washington, DC. My mission is to share my story to anyone that would like to listen to the principles for education, hope and solutions as it relates to what are Co-Occurring Disorders, and their impact on society.

For those who are listening, it is important to know that your story can make a difference. Who would have every thought that writing my books as a survivor of depression, addictions and suicidal ideations who allow me to have a vision, and become the founder of a national walk and vendor event knowns as DC Walk 4 ReCovery.

A walk to encourage others to never give up, no matter how dark the roads maybe. There is help, hope and treatment out there. YOU ARE NOT ALONE!

IT TAKES A VILLAGE

It has been said that it takes a village to raise a child. ― African Proverb.

We cannot live for ourselves alone. Our lives are connected by a thousand invisible threads, and along these sympathetic fibers, our actions run as causes and return to us as results.” ― Herman Melville

What is left that only the family can do? According to the new economy – nothing. The leading view today is ‘It Takes a Village,’ that even love can be outsourced to teachers, coaches, clubs and mentors. The truth is that it does take a village, a community, but a community of families working, playing, cooperating and facing obstacles together, not a community of government institutions.” ― Oliver DeMille

“Alone we can do so little, together we can do so much.” ― Helen Keller

We the DC Walk 4 ReCovery say,  “it takes a village of collaboration and motivation of optimistic
likeminded people that are focused to raise a village, for change together.  ―  Rhonda L Johnson, Founder

THANK YOU!

My TRUTH and I STAND on it!

THIS IS MY TRUTH & I STAND ON IT!

Life is all about how we see things. Either you can see a person who has overcome Co-Occurring Disorders or you can see someone who did not let life beat her down.

Society has a way to make you feel that because you suffer with addictions and or mental health disorders that you are not worthy to be a leader.  It is important to know this…

In this journey called life, God will make you wait on purpose, not only so you will know it was His favor, but so all of your critics, friends, relatives and coworkers won’t be able to deny what God has done in your life.

So take it from a person who has been through hell and back, never give up,  because your story is going to help others get through, just like you!

Remember, the strongest people are not those who show strength in front of us, but those who win battles we know nothing about.
